Jedd,I'm trying to hold my cards but you keep bring up odd stuff I know about. Ernie Skelton and Elmo Looper both used to work for Al Crocker. Anyway my first Super X was built by those two to race at the old track that would became Ascot. I have a photo somewhere of Ernie holding it on his knee, it was that light. It had been changed over to a circulating oil system w/ two Crocker oil pumps driven off the pinion shaft and mounted on the cam cover. it also had the Sport model big upper end on it. I sold it to buy my house 25 years ago. Dale Walksler has it now. A MONSTER! Elmo and his brother both were the real deal.

Doc don't get me wrong. I want your comments. It puts some depth into the pictures. It's just when you correct me, I get embarrassed! By the way, I would have kept the Crocker and lived in a ditch along side the road!

Jedd, It was a highly modified Excelsior Super X racer w/ Crocker oil pumps for street use.. If it was a Crocker I'd be sending this comment from the city library as my shopping cart would be double parked outside( the one with all the recycleable beer bottles in it).

I HAVE HAD A CROCKER FOR MANY YEARS. MINE IS CROCKER NUMBER FOUR. IT WAS FIRST PURCHASED IN 1936 AND WAS THE FIRST CROCKER SOLD TO THE PUBLIC. I AM PUTTING IT TOGETHER. GREAT BIKE. HAND MADE TO AN IDEAL RATHER THAN ECONOMIC REALITY. RANDY WIGGINS

FIRST OF ALL, CROCKER PRODUCED BETWEEN 61-AND-64 COMPLETE V-TWIN MOTORCYCLES TO VARIOUS SPECIFICATIONS. THEY MADE 31-OR-32 SPEEDWAY RACERS. THAT IS ALL. SO MUCH FICTION IS WRITTEN. HOPE TO GET IT RIGHT. RANDY WIGGINS

ELMO LOOPER AND ERNIE SKELTON WERE BEST OF FRIENDS. I WORKED AND KNEW ERNIE FOR MANY YEARS. HE NEVER WORKED FOR THE CROCKER MOTORCYCLE COMPANY. THE LOOPER BROTHERS PURCHASED MUCH OF THE REMAINING CROCKER INVENTORY AFTER THE CLOSE OF THE COMPANY. ELMO WAS A GREAT RIDER. ERNIE IS MISSED. RANDY WIGGINS

THE CROCKER MOTORCYCLE COMPANY IS IN TROUBLE AT THIS TIME. THEY ARE NOT PRODUCING ANYTHING BUT BULL SHIT AND MIS-INFORMATION. A GUY FROM AUSTRALIA IS PRODUCING A PROPER RIDABLE CROCKER MOTORCYCLE AND IT WILL BE AVAILABLE SHORTLY. IT RUNS AND WILL BE CHEAPER TO PURCHASE. THE PERSON, MICHAEL IS NOT MAKING THEM.

“Anonymous” has been posting the same nonsense for sometime, and also under the name drsprocket. The US trademark website clearly states who the legal owner of the Crocker Brand is. Cycle World Magazine and thousands of motorcycle people have witnessed it start and run recently at the Quail Motorcycle Gathering in Carmel and some of the most respected people in motorcycling are behind this company. The company has been selling original Crocker owners replacement parts for years and it is also known that Schacht (Crocker brand owner) is no stranger to defending the Crocker brand on line as well as in court with a history of success. I assume Crocker will continue making parts, building bikes and defending themselves from assholes, jealous wieners, nay sayers, cheats, liars and interlopers like “Anonymous” here.

CROCKERS ARE A SPECIAL BIKE. RARE AND BEAUTIFUL. MICHAEL SHACT IS A FULL OF CRAP WEINER OF A PERSON. HE COULD NOT PRODUCE ANYTHING THAT RUNS.

MR. MIKE SCHACT IS NOT PRODUCING ANYTHING THAT RUNS. DO NOT TRUST NOR GIVE THIS MAN MONEY FOR ANYTHING BUT MABY A SODA POP. PATRICK.

The negative comments regarding Crocker Motorcycle Company and Michael Schacht on this forum are foolish at best and only exist in the rumor mill. They are clearly part of a campaign to discredit and defame Michael Schacht, Crocker Motorcycle Co and all the incredibly talented American machinists, engineers, mold makers foundries est. it took to create the new bikes. The New Crocker was unveiled at the 2012 Quail Motorcycle event in Carmel and started in front of a crowd of over 600 people, including many media and industry professionals. Currently they are producing their limited production bikes to order in Southern California. This company also holds the Crocker trademark in over 30 countries including the USA. Sad to see such hate and jealousy in the Antique American Motorcycle group.

FIRST OFF, MIKE SCHACT OWES QUITE A BIT OF MONEY TO VARIOUS PERSONS. HE IS A FRAUD. IF YOU WISH TO PURCHASE A CROCKER, MAKE SURE YOU SEE IT BEFORE ANY MONEY TRANSACTION HAPPENS. DOES ANYONE KNOW THE WHEREABOUTS OF THIS MIKE SCHACT?

tried to contact mike s many many times ABOUT EVEN T SHIRT SALES and info on the cost of a reproduced crocker HE WONT ANSWER, WHY NOT IF HE I LEGIT. HE HAS NO BIKES FOR SALE BUT SAYS HE IS TAKING DEPOSITS ON THENET, I SAY B.S. GARY JENKINS TORONTO CANADA

Anonymous said...

I ALSO HAVE TRIED TO CONTACT MIKE SCHACT MANY TIMES. WHEN I SAW AND SPOKE TO HIM AT THE LONG BEACH SHOW AND SWAP MEET HE SAID TO LEAVE A DEPOSIT FOR A CROCKER REPRODUCTION MOTORCYCLE. THIS MAN APPEARS TO BE A FRAUD. HIS MOTORCYCLE RUNS WITH A GENUINE REAL CROCKER MOTOR BECAUSE HIS REPRODUCTION MOTORS DO NOT WORK. THEY WERE IMPROPERLY ENGINEERED. BEWARE OF THIS MAN. DANNY ENGLES

Skelton told what ever story came to mind, no one checked to see if he was a BS artist. He was not Elmo's friend, he latched onto the 13 Rebels club who were regular visitors to Elmo's house on Spruce st Montebello. Elmo did not buy any inventory of parts, the Bigsby drawings have the inventory on each and every page. Skelton "borrowed" the drawings and NEVER RETURNED THEM, possession is 9/10 of the law as written in IRON REDSKIN by Harry Sucher. It should be seen as strange that Al Crocker jnr was never contacted in 1970s 1980s 1990s for history lesson, the Crocker story was left to two BS artists who made it all up!! The Crocker Register is as BENT as the guys who wrote it, fortunately for them they are dead but with pen and paper, bring them back to life again to face the music. 50 years is too long for the Crocker BS to continue. The Crocker family are now up to speed on what has happened with the amount of Replica bikes built since the 1970s. no one has ever bothered to question the Crocker story. as for Schacht, when the Crocker story is exposed demand could very well fall flat for parts, there could be some pissed off collectors soon. There is no such thing as a 1942 Crocker, there were no mechanics working for Crocker, War contracts were for specific air plane parts. So how much is a 1942 Crocker worth at the auction house ? A 1941 Crocker is a stretch, the Scoot-about was on the streets by October 1940 and no new ones by mid 1941, no Lauson motor means no scooters, simple. P Strickland

Ernie Skelton and Chuck Vernon did not work for Al Crocker. Skelton and Elmo did not work together on any Bike, of any brand. Elmo had nothing to do with Harry Sucher Crocker 38-61-31.
It is unlikely that Sucher and Chuck ever met Elmo.

Sucher wrote what ever fit his vision. Albert G Crocker 1882 - 1961 was a Carpenter who had no connection to motorcycles, no one has bothered to check how accurate Sucher IRON REDSKIN was.
Elmo Looper had Crocker 36-61-4 as his custom, his name has been removed from Register. Murray owned the bike when it was painted Gold, his name has been removed too. The village idiot of La Mirada parted that bike, now there are 5 bikes linked to Elmo Looper, none of them belonged to him . Chuck claimed his bike 40-61-117 was Elmo's with a pink slip, if the address and signature are bogus, that gets legal, DMV code section forgery
a close eye needs to go over the "prototype" 36-61-1X , there is no evidence to prove it other than Chucks word

look as hard as ya want. That bike has got HD WR tanks with Crocker badges, parked at the B.i.L house in Montebello, who also had a Crocker. Elmo's 3 bikes were Strokers and likely the only examples made. He briefly worked at the factory specifically on Stroker motors and cam grinding. Crocker's were always advertised as 61". His son is still around

Michael Schacht never paid Patrick Folger in full for building the new Crocker Big Tank from the ground up at his machine shop in Anaheim, CA. When the bike was completed, he promised to pay in full once it sold. However he refuses to sell it because he only uses it for shows, photo shoots, and articles. Even after receiving his inheritance a couple of years ago, he still hasn't paid Patrick Folger for the many years of work it took to get the Big Tank to run and look perfect. Do NOT trust Michael Schacht. Patrick Folger is no longer making anything else for him so you cannot expect to receive anything from him but useless Crocker "art."

How can Schahct sell the bike if it has an engine number like it has ? # 42-80-400

it was made in 1942 really ? previous owners name ?

that will start a domino effect, which will be very interesting.

The DMV will not be impressed and it is called F R A U D and stamping without permission from DMV, misleading info, non DMV assigned number

Schacht can not sell the bike or provide paper work or list it as a vintage vehicle any where
