Update on my UL

Just a little update on my UL. The piston pin seized on the Derby ride causing the front piston to seize. The top end is apart so we are doing new pistons and cleaning up the barrels. The Garage Company has it now and Yoshi tells me 10-12 days. He's usually pretty accurate on his time estimates, so should be riding again in two weeks. As soon as I get the bike back, I start planning the next event with avengence.

This tasty little morsel comes from our buddy Wes. The NLAMC was started in 1949 in the SFV. Some of the original members included, Bud Ekins, Jack Haley, Harry Pelton and Homer Knapp. From what I understand these guys wanted to race as the LAMC, but the AMA already had a club by that name in the books, so the fellas went with NORTH LAMC. Way to respresent the SFV guys.

Just a little "thank you" to Chopper Dave for the article in the new issue of The Horse. A nice little two page story on the Wing Nut Derby. I hope his feature ups our visitors to the blog site and sparks some more interest. We've got a summer event coming up. I just don't know what it's gonna be. I was thinking of a good ole fashioned field meet. Tie the campin' gear to the bike, ride somewhere and camp for the night. Let me know what you think.
