German Harleys

Norbert in Germany sent us a pic of him and a buddy on a little trip to Sweden. Very cool Norbert!

Italian Harleys!

These pics come from Uncle J, a Boozefighter in Italy. These are his bikes. He needs help locating a Thoro or B&H set up for his Knuckle. Any help would be appreciated.

The Fonz..ayyyyy!

Ok. Too much thinking by yours truly Flathead Jedd. I'll admit it. I loved Happy Days! It got very cheesey. Some would even say it "jumped the shark." Let's talk about The Fonz. No let's talk about the Fonz' bike. Here's what I remember. The first season he rode a purple Knucklehead. Yes he did! Well maybe not rode but was sitting on or standing next to. Do you remember the first season. No leather jacket! That's right the producers felt that even in 1974 the symbolic leather jacket was to evil. So what did the Fonz wear. Do you remember the light blue windbreaker? Also do you remember the Cunningham's oldest boy Chuck? He went off to college and we never heard from him again. Why did they drop the Knuckle after the first season? Who knows? Maybe Chuck stole it and rode off to California. In comes the Triumph Trophy. Very cool in it's own right and more associated with the Fonz. The inspiration for my Triumph, by the way. And what about the leather jacket? It was agreed that as long as the Fonz was near his bike and it could be perceived as a piece of safety equipment he could wear it. Obviously as time went on he never took it off, even to jump a shark. Well this post is jumping the shark and I'm embarrassed that I know so much about Happy Days. If you are ever in Washington DC and visit the Smithsonian, visit Fonzie's jacket. It's there and it brought a tear to my eye.

Anybody notice anything strange? Hint, check out the engine. Perhaps the front cylinder. No cheatin' bastards!

H-D Dealership

I'm sure it still happens. Riders meeting at the local dealership and going on a ride. Much like meeting at Four Aces for a ride. If you got more dealership pictures send them our way. I like these. Especially when you can see through the front window at the display and drool over what you wish you could buy.

Molded Blue Bagger

Again later than usually posted but I found a link to some very cool 60's customs. I like them because the style is very Watson/Barris late 50's car styling applied to FLHs. Again, almost an offspring of custom bikes, but away from the chopper craze. If nothing else they are cool old pictures. I'll post a few now and then.

Looks like the foot shifts have it! To recap, based on our polls, people would like to build a Harley Davidson Knucklehead with a foot shift. Stay tuned for more polls.

There's some numbers for you Doc. I dig the bike on the left. very racey with it's low bars and short windscreen. Looks built for speed to me. Real speed. Like lakes speed.
