One thing I can say about the Catalina Grand Prix is WICKED COOL! I just got back from New England so it seems appropriate. This could have been our Isle of Man. Too bad it didn't last. The reunion a couple of years ago was a nice idea, but $70 to take the boat without the bike can be tough, but with shipping a bike, get outta here!

I just got back from Catalina, and the local paper had a blurb to the effect: The Grand Prix is ON for December 2010! I'm waiting to get more details from AMA district 37, but a one time permit has been issued for this up coming December. If it is a successful money maker for the island in the off season, it could be back every year!
