It doesn't have a Sportster or XS650 engine, or a gas tank made out of a toaster oven, or an oil tank made out of a hollow bowling pin (sez Rich, with his tongue planted firmly in his cheek.

Rear stand, push rod covers, early tanks w/petcocks, cam cover, oil tank w/ banjo fittings, early toolbox. '40 and above footboards though and 16" rims, plus '41 and later 7" air cover. Crash bars on a bob don't look bad.
I'm going out on a limb and saying '36. It's hard to tell but, the side car lugs look more pronounced (welded on vs part of casting), and the frame looks rounded instead of angled below them.
The rear fender also has the stainless trim that was started in '39.
Wonder what year the photo was taken? How about that side mount license plate? Who and when was that first done?
A funny coincidence just dawned on me. Did anybody realize my earlier statement (to poop on!),is from "Triumph" the insult dog?
Chris, check out the aluminum finned ring on the front brake drum I missed the first go round. That paint is killer along with the pinstripping on the front fork. I looked through my archives of old photos and I'm almost certain the is C.B Clausen the first President of the Boozefighter's in 1946. He built one of the first flathead 80" fly wheeled stroker knuckles ever built. He ran another monster knuck called "the Brute Jr." on the Rosemond dry lake. That bobjob is one of the best.
