Your sneaky Jedd, but I got you covered. #51 is Bill Tuman of the Indian "wrecking crew" #1 in the nation in 1953. Last year of Indian. In the 1st photo you'll spot the #1 plate of Bobby Hill, Tuman's partner in crime. He won the #1 title in 1951 and 1952 for Indian. Have talked to both and they are true gentlemen.
Ernie Beckman was the other member of the Indian Wrecking crew. AMA Hall of Fame has a nice piece on him.
Got to meet all three of them back in the 1990s at the Del Mar Concours in San Diego. All three were great to talk with and slightly astonished to discover that they were still known and respected as racers 40+ years after they gave up racing.

P.S. This must be 1952, Paul's last year of racing. Since Bobby had the #1 plate from 1951.
