Jedd, My eyes aren't what they use to be but isn't that a bobbed 45" Harley? Stock fork, front brake, tanks w/o speedo, battery box, frame, wheels, etc?

I'd guess a late 30's 45. Note the primary and carb cover.

Anonymous' statement brings up the question. Does the frame need to be cut, to be a cut down?

Chris, no tank emblems make them at least '39 and below. Brake lever is '41 and above. Foot boards are '41 and above. Probally as you say '39 or below with later add ons. J model frames are the only ones I ever seen cut down because of their high center of gravity. They are where the name came from. VL's, 45's and big twins were always bob jobs. Their tanks and frames swooped down more in the rear section.
