Info Wanted

I'm looking for any info on this bike, Schaller Cams or Irwin Lee. This bike was from the central valley of California and raced at Bonneville beating records, but not getting in the books for various reasons. It ran in 1949. Anything would help. Thanks.

Jedd, just got back from Maine. That machine was raced first by Stan Dishong of Vallejo and had the original Joe Petrali motor in it that set the record on the beach. He blew it up and a pan was installed. Lot's of photos of it in the early 50's issues of cycle magazine. Hope you had a good time at Dixon. Rich

Rich, we had a great time. Good people and a good atmosphere. I actually took first place in the period modified class. It was truly an honor. Wes and Jeff RAIDED the swap meet. I want to get copies of some of the pictures that were up on your boards at least the ones you didn't borrow from our site! Welcome back we missed you and your pithy comments.

Jedd,

Killer picture man. I've got a few more shots of that bike, from both sides. I'll send them over when I get 'em scanned. What email can I send them to?

Matt if you could send the pics and any info you have to wnmc@sbcglobal.net it would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to help out Bob McMillan gather information on the bike and it's history. He knew one of the riders Irwin Lee. Irwin has passed and Bob's trying to document his story, but not too many people around who remember anything.

before Stan Dishong had the bike it was the famous Joe Petrali/ Daytona record holder with full body work. It was Blue, then yellow then chrome. I have the orig. SCTA timing tag when Stan ran it at Bonneville in 1952. Jeff Decker
